Characterization of Moving Acoustic Targets as Linear Time-Varying Filters

A formula is developed for the linear filter equivalent of a transmitter-target-receiver system for the case where all are moving. The impulse response of the system is in terms of the impulse response of the target. It is shown that even when the impulse response of the target is stationary, the system response is time varying.
