Kalman filter estimation of electrical machine parameters

The authors have reported on the computer implementation of a Kalman filter for the determination of system parameters. This paper describes the application of the technique in the determination of the parameters of a d.c. motor. The validity of the technique is confirmed by comparing the experimentally observed machine response with the theoretical response predicted from the estimated parameters.
