An expert tutor in the SLAW programming environment (abstract only)
Michael Doran · 1987
SLAW is a language free programming environment based on structure chart techniques presented in the department's introductory courses [LAW83] [LAW86]. The current implementation, which was developed on the IBM-PC, allows for automatic translation of an algorithm design (structure chart) into PASCAL, FORTRAN and BASIC [DOR86a]. This translation is possible due in part to inclusion of the dictionary of variables into the design [DOR85]. The environment has been tested and used by many students at Tulane and is currently being used in a local high school's advanced computer science course [DOR86b].
