Energy efficiency optimisation for AF relay networks with direct transmissions

An efficient power allocation scheme is provided to maximise the energy efficiency for amplify‐and‐forward (AF) relay networks. To reduce the complexity, both the optimal and simplified equal power allocation schemes with closed‐form expressions are derived.
