Parmly Hearing Institute, presented a paper entitled "Pitch Processing."Yost's easy-to-follow style of presentation plus tape-recorded demonstrations which enabled the audience to participate in simple pitch-processing experiments provided an interesting and highly informative evening. On 13 February 1985 Richard Schlindwein, General Manager, Riverbank Laboratories, Inc., presented a paper entitled "Tuning Forks and Choirchimes."Mr. Schlindwein gave an interesting and witty history of the development and use of tuning forks and Choirchimes.Choirchimes are an inexpensive substitute for the brass hand-bells traditionally used by bell choirs.Used mostly for practice purposes the Choirchimes are, nevertheless, musical instruments in their own right. The highlight of Schlindwein's presentation was an extensive display of tuning forks and resonance devices of all shapes and sizes plus a complete set of the Choirchimes. Some unexpected hilarity occurred at the close of the meeting when Dr. Tom Rossing of Northern Illinois University tried to teach a small group how to play rounds with the Choirchimes.Riverbank Laboratories also generously provided a free tuning fork for each person attending the meeting.
