POSC picks data access technology

Less than two years ago, Posc was formed to set standards that enable the sharing of information within and among oil companies in an open computing environment. Today, after rigorous and comprehensive evaluation of technologies from 29 companies, we have selected technologies from Hewlett-Packard and UniSQL. To my knowledge this is the first time a user-driven group is defining standards to satisfy their needs for accessing computer data.
