Efficient Design of Fast Fourior Transform Processor Using FPGA Technology

Ziwei Zheng, Zhe Ren · 2010

Efficient design and implementation of an Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) processor is one of the most important problems for signal processing, signal transmission, networking and security (key enabling technologies supporting electrical and control engineering applications). The problems of design and implementation of complex numbers FFT processor based on the field programmable gate array (FPGA) technology are studied for the applications in the fields of signal processing, signal transmission, networking and security in this paper. The proposed complex numbers FFT processor was implemented in a field programmable gate array chip (the hardware platform of XC2V40) with the use of a very high-speed integrated circuits hardware description language and advanced synthesis and place and route tools (the software platform of ISE9.1 provided by Xilinx Inc, VHSIC hardware description language).
