To the Editor:— Large dictionaries give 22 definitions for as a verb or 23 as a noun, or more or less. Your journal invents still others in each issue. Shakespeare (The Bard of Avon) managed with three. As cited above, verbally use is followed immediately by a (pro)-noun; it is a transitive verb of action. Similarly the first meaning as a noun implies action. ... 103 patients have now been examined... using... the scintillation camera...
