ABSTRACT:SMEMAX is a transformation technique suggested by Bethalmy to transform random hydrological series to a near normal series. This paper puts forward an alternative simpler form of the SMEMAX transformation. The modified SMEMAX transformation avoids use of trigonometric functions and the transformed variables range from 0 to 100.
