Linguistic Modeling of Information and Markup Languages, Contributions to Language Technology. Andreas Witt and Dieter Metzing (eds).
Piotr Bański · Literary and Linguistic Computing · 2012
This book contains a collection of 13 articles on various aspects of modelling of linguistic data and modelling of text in general. The scope of the contributions ranges from descriptions of the formal foundations, through methodology of modelling, to illustration of the application of some of the principles discussed. It is aimed at linguists, textual scholars, creators as well as consumers of electronic language resources, and in general, at any digital humanist interested in the development of annotation methods, in hypertext studies, transformation and analysis techniques, and in modelling of text and language resources (henceforth LRs). While some of the chapters offer useful primers or overviews of the given sub-field, this is not a book for absolute beginners. It should make its way on to the shelf of any researcher who wants to stay abreast with the current state of the complex field of what is nowadays broadly addressed as ‘annotation science’.
