VoIP packet loss hiding method based on amplitude gain control

Guifen Chen, Yijun Wang, Huiqin Guo · 2014

In packet loss hiding technology, when we use the original waveform similar superposition method for processing, the algorithm can guarantee that speech signal and original signal in phase has the largest similarity after repairing. But the algorithm ignores its similarity in amplitude, which leads the speech appearing a lot of echo signal and noise, etc. After repairing, it will seriously affect the user's experience. Based on this, the paper adds the amplitude gain control in hiding technology, by extending the voice packets received at the receiving end to restore the gap between the waveform, which can keep the original waveform amplitude, phase and other characteristics. The simulation results show that the improved algorithm to terminal computation requirement is very low, and is suitable for the real-time demand higher VoIP voice communication for mobile platform in the waveform of the speech waveform processing of strong commonality.
