High-Precision Surface Rendering Method for Image Sequences
Hong Liu, Min Shuhui · 2010
Based on the summary and analysis of work done in the field of surface rendering, this paper proposes a mathematical method which can significantly improve the precision of surface rendering. The method is built on the rational function interpolation technique which can help to obtain very good curve mesh which fits well with the desired iso-surface and effectively overcome such common problems as connection ambiguity and topological inconsistencies in the connection of triangular surfaces which are brought about by the use of linear interpolation in Marching Cubes algorithm and Marching Tetrahedron algorithm. The three-dimensional surface reconstruction in the numerical experiments has shown that the equivalent surface in the image sequence has high quality and beauty, which indicates that the proposed method has great value in practical application.
