Comment on ‘‘Self-field quantum electrodynamics: The two-level atom’’

Michael D. Crisp · Physical Review A · 1991

Barut and Dowling [Phys. Rev. A 41, 2284 (1990)] have raised questions concerning the ``illegal use'' of superposition in the neoclassical radiation theory of Crisp and Jaynes [Phys. Rev. 179, 1253 (1969)]. They also continue to use an expansion for their wave function that has been questioned as to its validity and interpretations [Bialynicki-Birula, Phys. Rev. A 34, 3500 (1986)]. Both of these points will be discussed in this Comment.
