A generalization of Lin's method for polynomial factorization

The Lin method for finding a quadratic factor from an nth degree polynomial by using long divisions iteratively is well known in control systems analysis and design. This paper is to generalize the technique by using a higher degree other than quadratic subpolynomial as a trial divisor to carry out the process. The symbolic long divisions required in the process are performed by evaluating the related determinants via Grassmann algebra.
