Performance analysis of indoor multipath interfered packet radios at the presence of capture effect
Michael T. Tang, Jyh‐Horng Wen · ACM SIGCOMM Computer Communication Review · 1991
In this paper, the effect of indoor multipath interference on the performance of a random access technique, viz., slotted ALOHA is studied. Key performance measures channel throughput and mean packet delay are derived via minislot approximation. These results turn out to be very accurate and have been verified by means of computer simulations. Signal capture effect is taken into consideration in evaluating the successful packet reception probability for the purpose of practical application. Examples are also given to demonstrate the actual effect of the technique.
