Low Noise, High Stability, X-Band Frequency Generator for on Board Satellite Equipment

At present. and still more in the future, the on board satellite equipments need frequency generators working at high frequencies. It's possible, of course. to use the actual C Band frequency generators, followed by a proper chain of multipliers. However this choice involves an increase in size, weight and manufacturing costs. A new high stability low noise frequency generator working at X Band has been developed and tested. The output signal is phase locked to a quartz Master Oscillator reference signal in a Sampling Phase Lock Loop (SPLL).
