Pantelis Monogioudis, Rahim Tafazolli, B.G. Evans · Electronics Letters · 1994

An adaptive near far resistant (NEFAR) receiver architecture based on fractionally spaced decision feedback equalisation (FS-DFE) is addressed. The FS-DFE detector is found to offer significant advantages compared to the decorrelating detector of . The detection process does not make explicit use of the interfering sequences and can act as a multipath diversity combiner. It is shown that even for non-near-far scenarios the FS-DFE detector offers significant gains in spectral efficiency as compared to the conventional detector.
