Anomalous Thresholds and Final-State Interactions in Production Processes

Complicating effects in the process N + pi yields N + pi + pi due to anomalous thresholds are noted. These effects are common to many production processes (including p + d yields He/sup 3/ + 2 pi /sup 0/0) and may confuse the interpretation considerably. However, the process studied allows a quantitative estimate of the difficulties. (L.N.N.)
