Singular perturbation problem for steady state solutions to a model equation of phase separation

A model equation for phase separation introduced by Eguchi-Oki-Matsumura (EOM) is investigated. The behavior of steady state solutions is analyzed when the parameter, which depends on the ratio of the surface energy, tends to zero. The problem is a kind of singular perturbations in the sense that the coefficient of the highest order derivative is very small. Analytical convergence results are established.
