This paper discusses the genesis and development of DW3 (Duke World Wide Web) Classical Music Resources, a vertical portal that comprises the most comprehensive collection of classical music resources on the Web with links to more than 2,800 carefully selected, non-commercial pages/sites in over a dozen languages.
