Redocumentation for the maintenance of software
Robert M. Freeman, Malcolm Munro · 1992
Traditionally documentation has been mainly text based and it is considered that this is not always the best format for the analysis and understanding of code for use in software maintenance. A system based upon an interactive hypertext system utilising both text and graphics would be more appropriate. This paper starts by describing software maintenance from the documentation viewpoint. It then lists the requirements for a documentation system which will help overcome these problems. Finally the documents to be produced are discussed.
