Many systems in academic computing are being "right-sized," creating a diversity of platfirms i!o support.This diversity offers differing support options for each platform, so attention must be paid to HOW decisions to insource or outsource are made.Examples of source-o fisupport deciswns (including microcomputer repair, LAN design, and IAN training) are examined.Then the relative strengths of various support source options are reviewed.
