Enhancement of multiband excitation (MBE)by pitch-cycle waveform coding

A novel method using a pitch-cycle waveform (PCW) to convey the information pertaining to the spectral amplitudes of the multi-band excitation (MBE) model is proposed. It significantly improves the perceptual quality of the MBE decoded speech, especially for the case of male speech.
