The role of user services in distributed processing

University use of minicomputers and microcomputers is rapidly growing. Without coordination, the effectiveness of these resources will be hampered by lack of communication, interface incompatibilities, and lack of software transportability. User Services is in an ideal position to assume the leadership role in coordination and support to produce an effective utilization of these resources.
