Detection of evoked potentials with the use of the stochastic filtering theory

For detecting evoked potentials (EPs) in electroencephalogram (EEG) signals, a mathematical model of EEG without EP is constructed and equations of stochastic filtering are synthesized. From the analysis of updating sequences, an EP detection criterion is formulated. An EP detection algorithm is developed and studied, and its efficiency is confirmed by means of simulation.
