Using TSC to analyze speech sounds

TSC (trans spectral coherence), is a technique that has been shown recently to be effective in analyzing signals that have been generated through nonlinear mechanisms. It deals with the analysis of the components of a spectrum for coherence and transphase. A set of vowels generated by different speakers were analyzed using this technique. Using a model for speech production, an estimate of the glottal waveform and its characteristics was made. A discussion of the implications of this approach to the problem of speaker identification is included.
