Impact of Propagation Parameters on Neighbouring Cells Interference in Power Controlled CDMA Systems
Samad S. Kolahi · 2005
In this paper the effect of propagation parameters on neighbouring cells interference is investigated using a simulation and modelling technique. The results of this investigation indicate the extent that other-cells interference increases with increasing shadowing parameter but decreases with increasing distance exponent It is concluded that the distance exponent has the dominant effect on other-cells interferences. It is established that it is sufficient to consider only three tiers of neighbouring cells when calculating the total interference as the addition of further tiers had an insignificant effect on the results. Other-cells interference factors are found to be independent of the traffic load when users are uniformly distributed.
