Dynamic Quota Allocation in EPFTS-based SUPANET
Haiying Wang, Yu Gao · 2009
This paper proposes a novel dynamic bandwidth allocation method based on a new switch technology named Ethernet-oriented physical frame timeslot switching (EPFTS). Based on the features of EPFTS, the bandwidth allocation is changed to quota allocation for manageable quality of service (QoS). The proposed method is composed of a quota allocation strategy and a dynamic quota scheduling policy called timeslots saving dynamic quota adjustment (TSDQA) algorithm. In order to guarantee the QoS request of the end users with different preferred quality, this algorithm effective allocate the network resources and dynamic adjust the quota combine the utility factor of timeslots resource and the fairness between traffic classes. Simulation results are analyzed in terms of the timeslots utilization, allocation quota, and time delay. The results show that the proposed method and dynamic adjustment algorithm can provide users with a better QoS-oriented resource reservation.
