INFO-FRAGA, a user friendly query language for large files and data bases

INFO-FRAGA has been developed at Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken and serves as the main tool for ad hoc data base and file access. The paper describes the reasons for building a query language in APL and some important applications. In addition, an overview of the system and its parts is provided, together with a discussion of some details of the implementation of APL, in particular how the compiler was constructed.
