Doppler time mapping

The algorithm presented by D. W. Ricker [‘‘Echo waveform synthesis in a rapidly varying geometry,’’ J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 72, 1321–1323 (1982)] for describing time-mapping when the trajectories of both a moving target and the projector are known contained the problem that some of the vehicle motion is transparent and error is introduced. An alternative algorithm, described in this Letter, avoids this problem, is computationally more efficient, with no accumulative error, and is simple to program.
