Coaxial sensors for large area temperature monitoring

Francis P. Kelly, D. McK. Paul, A Sadler, JL Goldberg · Journal of Physics E Scientific Instruments · 1981

Two types of coaxial temperature sensor have been developed to monitor large areas or lengths for abnormal temperatures. They are both bistable transducers in the form of a coaxial cable, a change of impedance occurring at a specific temperature, selectable within the range from -100 degrees C to +250 degrees C. The design considerations and constraints applicable to a complete system using the transducers are discussed.
