A* GCSE Physics

Philip Britton · Physics Education · 2000

This unique revision guide, written by A* students for their peers, is quite simply excellent. If at a first glance you disagree, then think more carefully what it is for. The book does not need to be pretty, it needs to be functional. Nice added extras are great during the course, but extraneous when revision is required. what is needed is crisp but detailed definition, well worked example questions, lists of key points and coherent explanations of key principles. As an example look at the section on convection. Enough from me. Here are a few comments from A* students, and they are the consumers: `good information is concise and easy to remember' `easy to read and well displayed' `excellent diagrams, helps explain things' `plenty of sample questions' One comment was `it is just the same as my notes'. Well, that is exactly the point, but a good buy if your students have been less than diligent making theirs!
