The construction of a selection battery for programmers adapted to South African conditions

The project was undertaken after a meeting between N.I.P.R. staff and a subcommittee of the Computer Society for South Africa in March 1968. Doubts had been expressed over the applicability of programmer aptitude tests normalized for a United States population to a South African population—a fact which accorded with the N.I.P.R.'s experience with other tests. The Society financed the project, and its influence was of great assistance in obtaining the cooperation of the many different organizations that were involved.
