Abstract Optical fibers are microfabricated and piezoelectrically vibrated to produce rectilinear scan patterns. By coupling a laser to the optical fiber and projecting the collimated light directly to the viewer's eye, the result is a proposed low‐cost, spectacle‐mounted, wearable low vision aid.
