Application of EDI Information System Based on XML in the Container Multi-Model Transportation

EDI information systems automatically transfer and deal with data between computers in a standard format by the use of the combination of computer and communication technology. However, traditional EDI message description is relatively simple that cannot express the more complex relationship between data and structure. Researching information system based on XML / EDI technology can combine the advantage of the Extensible Markup Language (XML) and EDI technology, which can achieve heterogeneous data transmission and sharing. This text is a research of building EDI information system based on XML for container multimodal transportation, which analyzes the advantage of XML/EDI technology, implement needs analysis from data sharing in the multimodal transport system, and preliminary design logical structure of the system.
