Hybrid image compression method based on fractal geometry

A hybrid method for image compression based on the fractal geometry concept is presented. By combining the scanline subtraction and prediction mechanism with the yardstickbased compression method, higher compression rate can be achieved with good image quality. Furthermore, the performance of the algorithm is improved through error compensation.
