Recent progress in mobile telecommunications technology has allowed railway telecommunications technology as well as railway control systems to go a step forward. While the mobile telecommunications technology evolved from the first generation of analogue mobile communication systems to what is known today as Beyond Third Generation (B3G), the same occurred with the telecommunication systems used in railways
