A Dynamic Indexing Method for XML Documents

In this paper, we propose a new indexing method to process path queries for XML documents. The proposed indexing method processes efficiently simple path queries as well as unknown length path queries. The proposed indexing method builds summarized tree and extracts features from the summarized tree. With the extracted features, we build R-tree to speed up search process. Our indexing method is able to be adapted well to frequently updated XML documents. The superiority of the proposed indexing method is shown through experiments.
