Pigments and Minerals: Part I — Hematogenous Pigments

Geoffrey G. Brown · Journal of Histotechnology · 1988

Stains for the identification of pigments are one of the most common requests received by the histology laboratory. This portion of a series of papers limits itself to the understanding and identification of hematogenous pigments identifiable in tissue sections. The four hematogenous pigments are explained and methods are given for their identification and demonstration. (The J Histotechnol 11:109, 1988.)
