Novel quantum box intersubband lasing mechanism based on image charges

We consider theoretically a novel lasing scheme in semiconductor quantum boxes. Ultralow threshold pumping power can be obtained due to the development of images charges in surrounding layers. The impact on the intersubband lasing is stressed.
