Staying current with AORN's latest standards and recommended practices (RPs) is easier now through a new RP eSubscription that allows health care facilities to purchase AORN's standards and recommended practices and also includes regular updates as soon as new AORN recommended practices are released throughout the year. The eSubscription allows multiple users access to all of the content in Perioperative Standards and Recommended Practices1 from various computers. It also features enhanced functionality including search, print, highlight, annotation, bookmark, and research book creation. “AORN understands that our standards and recommended practices guide perioperative professionals in their daily practice and we recognize the need for fast, convenient, multi-user access to these resources,” said Ramona Conner, RN, MSN, CNOR, AORN manager of standards and recommended practices. “This electronic format gives us the opportunity to share our latest recommended practices the moment they are released, rather than having to wait for next year's print publication.” Conner is the driving force behind the association's work to put AORN recommended practices online. In addition to making the RPs available electronically, AORN's recommended practices are also created, edited, and posted for public comment online. As new and revised AORN recommended practices are created throughout the year, they are released through the eSubscription. AORN's new eSubscription is available for purchase in several formats to accommodate the different needs of facilities. It is available for two, five, 10, or more than 10 concurrent users.
