A computer-based handwriting analysis system is described. It realizes the graphometric approach based on the measurement of geometric features. A user-friendly interface allows the expert to select characteristic points on the letter shape and define the parameters that have to be measured. A decision rule using the t-statistics is applied for writer identification. The experimental results have demonstrated the efficacy of the system as a tool that helps the expert to increase the objectivity of his analysis and conclusion.
