IDENTITIES OF FINITE INVERSE SEMIGROUPS

Mark Valentinovich Sapir · International Journal of Algebra and Computation · 1993

Inverse semigroups are considered as algebras with two operations: multiplication and inversion. We prove that there are no inherently non-finitely based finite inverse semigroups. In constrast, if we consider inverse semigroups as semigroups (one binary operation) then it was proved by the author that almost all finite inverse semigroups are inherently non-finitely based.
