Abstract The principle of the method for analysing large data sets is explained and a programming proposal in BASIC for small computers is given. The application is illustrated by the example of the concentration of individual heavy metal ions for a period of 24 hours in a water of an intermediate pumping station which is composed of municipal and industrial wastewaters.
