Light models are models requiring few observations, thus being efficient choices for experiment designing. We will show how to build such models through coverings. These are choices of observations that cover the range of variation for the treatments given by the level combinations of the relevant factors. We also study the crossing of light models and give an example in which coverings are obtained using stair nesting, a special type of nesting introduced by [2].
