Recently, there is an increasing demand on delivering video data over the Internet. In this paper, we propose a novel method of delivering video stream to a client by utilizing multithreaded parallel connections from the client to multiple geographically distributed servers. The proposed approach has been developed to deliver high quality best-effort MPEG-1 data delivery over current TCP/IP that does not guarantee QoS. The experimental results show that the video quality delivered by the proposed multithreaded stream could significantly be improved over the conventional single video streaming methods.
