Skills, attitudes and credentials for business data processing

Research and planning in the area of business data processing curriculum has been conducted for decades. Much of the current thinking is that a technical education in the area of programming is essential for success in business data processing. Not much emphasis has been placed on the business application side. This paper reviews some recent empirical research and proposes a user-oriented education for business programmers.
