This paper presents the design and development of a Chinese Character Relational Data Base Management System (CCRDBI%) on IBM PC.The design of modified SQL-like data language MSQL, the overall planning of the system, the design and irqolementation of host language interface and interactive interface, and the strategy of query optimization are described.
