S. Naka, S. Kojima · Progress of Theoretical Physics · 1982

The mass structure of strings in a high-dimensional unified theory is investigated. It is shown that in such an extended particle, the extra dimensional degrees of freedom can produce mass spectra with a scale other than the Plank mass.
