Self-balancing current regulator for measurement of critical currents of superconductors

R V Bellau · Journal of Scientific Instruments · 1967

An electronic system is described which automatically adjusts the current through a superconductor to maintain a small prescribed p.d. across it. Owing to the employment of a galvanometer-amplifier in the initial stage of amplification, the unit has extremely high voltage sensitivity and low thermal drift and is virtually insensitive to mains pick-up. It can be used in conjunction with an XY recorder.
